50 years ago, the premier of the province was Ross Thatcher of the Saskatchewan Liberal Party. The mayor of Regina was Henry Harold Peter Baker. The population of Saskatchewan was around 956-million people.
And our licence plates look nothing like they do now.
If you think you have a good story to tell about Regina in this era, here’s your chance to do so.
During the month of June, all residents of Regina are invited to write a letter to future Regina residents to help celebrate the grand opening of new Mosaic Stadium and the renewal of Confederation Park.
A time capsule will be buried in Confederation Park at the June 30, 2017 Mosaic Stadium building dedication and Confederation Park opening ceremony.
The capsule is meant to be in place for 50 years and will be opened in 2067
Submissions will be accepted until June 15, 2017.
