Ever thought, “not enough hours in the day!” You’re correct.
This weekend, after spending $14 on a pass, I will be attending the Regina Multicultural Council’s 50th Anniversary celebration of cultures represented right her in Regina and surrounding areas. Mosaic is a lot of fun and a busy weekend for those that are members of dance groups, singers and various performers as well as those that have spent hours cooking and making crafts.
A celebration of our cultural diversity and a coming together of our community. Wow, the people you’ll meet and renew acquaintances with. It is a wonder for people watching and getting those extra steps in Fit Bit wearers!
Also this weekend, take a moment to enjoy some of these activities. Flag Football continues out at the U of R. There will be friendly volunteers walking around selling 50/50 tickets. This is a progressive draw – the more you buy the bigger the jackpot come November.
The Regina Police Service and their Veterans will be holding a show and shine this weekend on 1700 block of Halifax Street. Today, a very cool old delivery truck when rolling by the radio station. It looked like something that was used in World War II! And maybe it was!
The Royal Canadian Legion would like draw attention to the veterans this weekend with Decoration Day. The activities will take place on Sunday at 1pm at the Regina Cemetery on 4th And Broad Street. (If you have never been to this cemetery, check the city site. So much of Regina’s history can be found; Darke, McCallum, Bothwell and other well known residents are laid to rest here.)
The Field of Honour that surrounds the Cross of Sacrifice is where you will find the ceremony being held. Again the Decoration Day begins at 1pm Sunday with wreath laying, events continue at the Royal Canadian Legion, Regina Branch 001 after. Stop by 1820 Cornwall Street for refreshments.
This could be a two page document – between garage sales, farmers market, bull riding and fighting to bicycle riding – get out and enjoy. Have fun, that’s my advice. Maybe I’ll see you at a baseball or football game, walking down the street or waiting for a light to change!
