Transport Canada reports an Air Canada plane landing at the Regina airport this week hit a coyote after landing.
The report states the airliner had just landed safelyTuesday night from the south when they told the tower they believed they had hit something.
Moments before, the pilots had said they thought they had seen a coyote on the runway.
An airport crew discovered the body of the animal and removed it.
While it is common for planes to hit birds as they take off and land, striking a large animal is considered to be odd at not just the Regina airport, but others.
