The Saskatchewan NDP is calling on the provincial government to release emails housed on a private server at the Sask. Party office.
Specifically, the NDP is asking the Sask. Party to release to the provincial auditor all emails related to the GTH land deal.
The NDP also claims that the Sask. Party has been blocking the FOI requests coming from the opposition, the media and the general public.
Interim NDP Leader Trent Wotherspoon says he and his party are looking for answers.
“We need that confirmed — that the private political server housed at the Sask. Party’s headquarters was in fact turned over to the auditor.”
According to the Premier’s office, emails are “already in the process of being transferred over to the government server.”
A statement released by the Sask. Party government denies Premier Brad Wall’s involvement with GTH negotiations, saying he “doesn’t negotiate government business via email.”
The statement goes on to say that “the same FOI criteria that applies to Premier’s government email account also applies to any other personal email accounts.”
