Vince Young will likely start the 2017 CFL season on the injured list.
Saskatchewan Roughriders head coach/general manager Chris Jones announced after the team’s practice Monday that the quarterback has been diagnosed with a torn hamstring and that he will be out of commission for a period of 4-6 weeks.
Young suffered the injury during a drill at practice last week. It had been expected he would see a large amount of playing time in the pre-season game versus Winnipeg before the injury happened.
“It’s unfortunate because it didn’t look like he was running really hard when he suffered the injury.”. Jones said. “When we had the MRI in Toronto the other day it was actually torn. It was a lot worse than we envisioned.”
Young is trying to make a comeback in the CFL after a career in the NFL. He has not played in a game since 2011 and has been out of football since 2014
