Humboldt RCMP are warning the public about a familiar scam involving the Canada Revenue Agency.
This time, an email is received advising that you have an Interact e-transfer from the CRA with a tax refund.
This email appears legitimate and there is usually a short time frame to accept the money transfer.
However, RCMP warn by accepting the transfer you are allowing other people to access your computer and on-line banking information.
Tempting as it may appear, people are urged to NOT accept the e-transfer as the CRA does not send out e-transfers.
CRA only handles refunds by either depositing the funds directly into you bank account or a cheque is mailed to you.
