Yesterday morning I made my way over to the grocery store to pick up a list of goodies that was actually drawn up by my wife. Talk about not trusting my judgement in list making!
As I was heading to the front door of the store a buddy of mine was just coming out with a box full of groceries. After our greetings he said, “Hey, I read about your $20 parking ticket a couple of weeks ago.” Really? Which one? I had a run of four tickets in less than a month! It turns out he reads my daily blog faithfully. Thank you Darren. You just made my blog!
While we were talking, another guy came up, groceries in hand, and told me he listens to the station everyday. He told me that he thinks we are way better than the competition. I like to think so. I didn’t know who this young gentleman was, but I thanked him and made my way into the store to get to work on that list that was burning a hole in my pocket.
I usually miss an item or two on the lists that I make up before going to the grocery store, but I sure didn’t want to miss anything off my wife’s list. I probably wouldn’t hear the end of it. I read that thing over and over and over to make sure I had everything in my cart that was written down.
Mission accomplished! I got a “good job” from my wife when she came home, which is always nice to hear when it’s coming from your boss or your better half.
In most cases, they are one and the same!
