One of the top events on the LPGA Tour will be played at the Wascana Golf and Country Club in Regina in August of 2018, and the club’s CEO can’t wait.
Greg Dukart says it’s his hope the course won’t be an easy one for those taking part, but that it will be a challenging layout for them when the CP Canadian Women’s Open is played.
He says some changes will be coming to the course as a whole, but nothing substantial.
“We’re in the middle of a long-range strategic plan right now and we’ll just be continuing on with that plan,” explained Dukart. “We can’t really be making significant changes prior to a tournament because of the playing conditions, but we have a few things planned.”
He adds that the LPGA will determine many things, but he says at the end of the day the course will provide a challenge to the world’s best while giving golf fans here an entertaining week.
Dukart hopes this tournament being played at the Wascana is the start of something special for the club.
