Today is haircut day in the Lewis household. Today after work I’ll take a two block walk from the radio station and go see Linda at Marvel Beauty School a on the Frederick W. Hill Mall. After that I’ll make my way home, pick up Max, and drop him off for his haircut.
I checked, and the last time he was in was on April 28th, not even two months ago! That’s some fast growing hair. I must admit, he’s looking a little scraggly. He’s also looking a bit dirty. We have a towel by the back door that we use to wipe his feet off after he comes in from a romp around the yard on rainy days, but that just dries his feet off, it doesn’t clean them. There’s no use putting him in the bath either, because he’ll just want out half an hour later and the process begins all over again.
No, today I’m leaving the clipping and the bathing to Janelle at Kreative Kutz. She does a great job on Max and he gets the full treatment. He gets a bath, his nails clipped and a nice short haircut. Plus when he’s all done, he gets a cute little bandana around his neck that he gets to wear home. It’s kind of like a prize, I guess. I think he looks cute, but judging by the way he acts when we get home, he can hardly wait for me to get that thing off of him. Best part of Kreative Kutz besides the good looking cut? It’s only 3 blocks from where we live!
When I pick him up, Janelle always says the same thing. “He was such a good boy today.” Really? You did all of that and he just stood there and took it? Trust me, that is not the same dog that we have living at home with us on a daily basis. Apparently, he’s a great actor.
My haircut will cost $25 and Max will set me back another $100. That’s still only half of what my wife spends on her haircut!
Hey, if Linda would consider taking on Max as another client, I could get the total cost of our haircut day down to $50!
