A heartbreaking loss for the Saskatchewan Roughriders in Montreal.
Tyler Crapigna had a chance to give the green-and-white a victory, but he pushed a 44 yard field goal wide on the game’s last play allowing the Montreal Alouettes to sneak out of Percival Molson Stadium with a 17-16 win.
In his first game against his old team, Darian Durant threw two touchdown passes and for 231 yards. After the game, he told TSN “|I felt like the way it ended wasn’t right. Football Gods always come through at the end. Those were the Football Gods that pushed that ball right because they know that what happened wasn’t supposed to happen that way.
Kevin Glenn threw for 298 yards and a touchdown going 31 for 44 on the night with that TD going to Bakari Grant.
Nic Demski and Naaman Roosevelt each caught 7 passes for a Riders team that took 21 penalties on the night.
The next game for the Riders is the official opening of Mosaic Stadium as they will go up against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Canada Day in a 7 o’clock start.
