Premier Brad Wall will spend this weekend in the US talking North American trade and energy security matters at a meeting of the governors of Western states which represents 19 American states.
While at the get-together which goes Sunday and Monday, Wall will participate in a roundtable panel with his American counterparts and David McNaughton, the Canadian ambassador to the U-S on “Connecting Canada to the West”
Wall says he will be delivering the same message to the governors that he delivered while on trips to Iowa and Washington which is Canada and the U-S have both seen significant benefits from liberalized trade over the years and that any renegotiation of NAFTA will build on decades of success and recognize how integrated supply chains between Canada, Saskatchewan and the U-S have become.
He will also tell the governors in attendance that we all share a common goal of North American energy independence, and security and that Saskatchewan and the Western States can work together on meeting that objective,
While in Montana, Wall will also have individual meetings with the governors of North Dakota, Montana and Wyoming.
