Communities across the country will be eating cake, setting off fireworks, crackin’ a beer and lighting up a bbq or a bonfire. It will be a fun weekend.
I choose to believe the celebration is just getting underway.
A few things you might want to know include – free bus travel in Regina on July 1. Getting you to the Saskatchewan Roughrider home opener and then taking you to the Fireworks afterward! Post party at the refurbished Confederation Park at Evraz Place just west of Mosaic Stadium. Pre game party should be a blast too, so consider yourself very busy this Canada Day.
If company is coming in from across the country to be apart of the Saskatchewan Action, then you might want to turn them on to this little gem of a sale! I’m sure the website is going to be over the top busy. And truly it maybe the only way to do this.
Canadian Western Agribition held an auction of seating from the dearly departed auditorium. And the seats went for a fairly large price tag! A lot of corporate dollars going to buy those old wooden seats. The money raised turned over to STARS!
I remember sitting way up high during breaks from working at the stock weigh scales. A place to take in a sale giving you a bird’s eye view. People would sleep up in the bench seating. Hey, when you’re out late, up early prepping cattle for a show or sale, you need somewhere away from it all! And it was warm up there too! Oh, if you worked running tags for livestock sales, you hoped you wouldn’t slip coming down the steep stairs, cause you’d be grabbing for a wooden seat! That old structure held a lot of history! I can imagine the frenzy that will be the sale of Taylor Field.
Good luck shopping – tomorrow on the Flea (Friday 9:10am) we will chat a bit more about it with Riley McChesney.
