The Saskatchewan Roughriders have added some home-grown talent to the roster.
Before stepping on the field for practice Tuesday, the team announced it had signed former Regina Ram Jeremy Zver.
Zver was taken in the second round of this year’s CFL draft by the BC Lions, but he was released just after the season started resulting in the Riders signing him.
The team also announced some departures as leaving the team are defensive lineman Jonathan Newsome, defensive lineman Davis Tull. linebacker Mike Dubuisson and linebacker DJ Pettway.
Head coach and general manager Chris Jones indicated the release of Newsome was because of a difference in philosophies.
Middle linebacker Henoc Muamba was also back on the practice field Tuesday just days after being placed on the six game injured list with what had been announced as a knee injury.
His arrival on the field means he could very likely be taken off the 6 game list very soon and may be back in the middle for Saturday’s home game against Hamilton.
