La Ronge, Stanley Mission, Southend and Melfort RCMP along with the assistance of Rosetown Traffic Services conducted two days of enforcement on roads and highways around several northern communities targeting alcohol and traffic-related offences.
It occured on June 29th and 30th.
According to police, significant amounts of liquor were seized and 6 people were charged with canvassing, possession or “bootlegging.”
The total estimated street value of the seized liquor is $8,345.00.
In addition to the seizures: 1255 vehicles were checked; 8 traffic safety act violations were issued; one Criminal Code driving charge was laid and one arrest warrant was executed.
