Taylor Field may soon become a distant memory, but items which have lived inside that structure will not.
Starting Wednesday, McDougall Auctions is hosting an online auction and Riders faithful will have a chance to bid on items like signage, to the field turf.
You can own a piece of that turf, goal posts, score clocks, jumbo screens, lockers, benches, banners, paving stones and even the elevator.
Riley McChesney with McDougall Auctions says it’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, adding it was a huge task to inventory all the items.
“So, if you’re interested in owning a piece of Taylor Field, from the turf to the bench you sat on, this is the time,” McChesney said. “It’s an opportunity to own a piece of history.”
McChesney says most everything will be sold, adding some items however may not make the auction block.
“There are a few things that are not up for auction – they’re keeping for certain reasons,” McChesney said. “I’d say a good portion of the contents for sure are up for sale.”
