The decision by SGI to sue the two Saskatoon bars that served a woman alcohol before she killed a family of four while driving drunk is a move being approved by the father of the man killed.
Lou Van de Vorst lost his son Jordan, his wife and their two young kids in the January 2016 collission.
He says an action like this will hold bars more accountable for their actions when serving people who have had too much.
Van de Vorst says ” It’s a very good thing as it will make establishments that serve alcohol to take a second look at what they are doing especially if serving people who are impaired.”
He adds establishments can control how much a patron has had, but if someone does leave and the thought process is he or she is impaired that they pick up the phone and call police as well.
