Saskatchewan received another big boost from the federal government Thursday for continued infrastructure growth.
896-million dollars has been committed by the Trudeau government as part of their plan to grown an economy that supports working middle class families.
MP for Regina-Wascana and Minister of Public Safety Ralph Goodale says the next step is for the Minister of Infrastructure and Communities to sit down with Saskatchewan and decide what projects the money will be used for.
“One of the major challenges for the Canadian economy is an economic growth rate over the last decade which has been too slow to increase the disposable incomes of middle class Canadians,” Goodale said. “And to create the necessary jobs.”
There are four categories where the money must be spent: Green Infrastructure, Public Transit Infrastructure, Rural and Northern Communities and Community, culture and recreation.
