Those heading to Country Thunder will want to make sure they have lots of water and sunscreen with them.
Environment Canada’s John Paul Cragg says the heat we had earlier this month is returning as the temperature should be at or above the 30 degree mark for the weekend starting Thursday.
Cragg says that means festival-goers should make sure they are applying sunscreen as the U-V index will be high and that hats should be worn to protect yourself from the blazing sun.
He adds that heat also means you should make sure you are staying hydrated by drinking plenty of non-alcoholic fluids to avoid any possibility of being overcome by the heat.
As for storms, Cragg says that heat can result in thunderstorms popping up and that the proper precautions should be taken if the sky starts to take an ominous turn and take cover if lightning can be seen as the open area where the festival will be held could mean a lightning strike.
