A Saskatchewan RCMP officer — who already has been suspended with pay — has been charged with possession of a restricted firearm, nearly six months after facing gun-related charges in Edmonton.
Constable Dale Malbeuf will appear in court in Swift Current on Wednesday after being charged with one count of possession of a restricted firearm without a registration certificate.
He was suspended with pay December 13, 2016 after allegations he pointed a gun at a woman in an Edmonton.
Malbeuf was charged with one count of pointing a firearm and one count of careless use of a firearm in that case.
Malbeuf appeared in Edmonton Provincial Court the day after the December incident and was released providing he follow certain conditions.
The RCMP says ongoing code of conduct investigation will continue.
