I don’t know what it is about Friday mornings, but for foot traffic, it seems to be the busiest day of the week.
This morning on my drive into work on 4th Avenue, I almost had to come to a complete stop so 4 people could cross the street. They didn’t wait for me to go by and they didn’t run across when they saw me coming. They waited for me and then purposely strolled across the street like they owned the darn thing.
The same thing happened as I was driving down Albert St. Two people decided it would be a good idea to mosey across the street right in front of me. I didn’t have to stop, but I was going slowly enough that if I yelled out the window I’d be able to hear them yelling back. Same thing happened at Regina Center Crossing. I had the green light, but some young guy with his hat backwards and his jeans riding down his rear end decided he didn’t need a walk sign either. What’s wrong with these people?
Then when I got to Albert and Vic, there were three police cars and an ambulance in the parking lot of the Esso station. The side door of the ambulance was open and there were about 4 or 5 cops hanging around. There was another vehicle in the parking lot as well, so I’m guessing the person in the back of the ambulance was the person, who not long before, was riding in that vehicle.
I never see this stuff any other morning when I come into work. It’s almost like there’s a full moon every week. It’s called Friday and all the weirdos come out to play!
