With the hot and dry conditions dragging on in Regina, SaskPower says there has been significant ground shifting and re-settling in the area.
SaskPower’s Ryan Blair says their cables could be affected by this.
“This can also cause the cables to pull away from the SaskPower boxes on the back of your houses,” Blair said. “SaskPower crews will be doing inspections over the coming weeks.”
Blair says they will be investigating three to four different neighborhoods where they know homes from the 1970’s exist and a certain type of wire may be installed.
Blair says while they are concerned about the shifting happening across Saskatchewan, Regina is of particular concern because of the soil — referred to by many — as Regina gumbo in the ground.
