620 CKRM was on location in Kennedy this past Saturday for the 85th Annual Moose Mountain Pro Rodeo. The hospitality was great in the community, especially from rodeo President Tye Cancade who is now into his fifth year at the helm.
Being from that Windthorst-Kipling-Kennedy area, it was fun meeting up with people I hadn’t seen in years. The day started with rodeo slack at 9 a.m. and the parade started at noon. Over 40 entries in this year’s parade which include the 620 CKRM truck. Congratulations to Dingi Berglund for being this year’s parade marshal! After the parade the demo derby and mud flings kicked off near the rodeo grounds. Rip roaring rodeo action got going at 5 p.m. and continued into Sunday.
At the heart of every event, whether in a small town or a big city, are the volunteers. They are the ones who make every event successful. I’d like to thank organizers and volunteers for inviting 620 CKRM out to this year’s rodeo and to all those who stopped by to visit at our broadcast location in front of Plainsview Credit Union.
Well done, Kennedy!
