This morning on my way to work I was driving south, pulling up to the intersection of Albert St. and Dewdney Ave. when I noticed something that seemed a little odd.
I was about half a block from the intersection when the light turned green. I was in the left lane and there was a car in the right lane that was already at the lights waiting for them to turn so he could mosey on his way. Well, the light turned green, but this driver didn’t mosey anywhere. He sat there waiting. For what? I have no idea.
By the time I got to the lights, this guy was still sitting there with his foot on his brake pedal. I slowed down a bit so I could get a quick peek to my right to see what was going on. I half expected someone in the front seat asleep at the wheel. There were two people in the front seat and they were both staring straight ahead. The driver had both hands on the steering wheel at the perfect ten to two position. He wasn’t sleeping, but he wasn’t very alert either.
After I got half way down the block past the lights I noticed the car starting to move. After they saw me go through they must have decided it was safe to proceed.
What are the odds of having two colorblind people in a vehicle at the same time? Pretty slim, I thought two myself. What are the chances that maybe their motor had died? Also, pretty doubtful. What are the chances that these two guys were headed home after a wild time at a bar or house party? Ding ding ding! We have a winner!
I could write a blog every week about the strange stuff I see on the streets at 3 A.M.
It’s never boring.
