The man responsible for the killing of 16-year-old Hannah Leflar has filed an appeal on his sentence of first degree murder.
After months of debate the court decided to sentence Skylar Prockner as an adult, despite the fact the murder took place when he too was 16.
In July he was sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole for ten years.
Prockner pleaded guilty to murder charges last year.
In January of 2015 he stabbed Leflar ten times in her north Regina home after she broke up with him.
