Slow moving thunderstorms developed on the north side of a low pressure system which tracked just south of Saskatoon on Tuesday.
Heavy rain drenched the Nutana district of Saskatoon with over 50 mm reported in a one hour period at an unofficial station near Taylor and Preston.
Environment Canada reports there were numerous reports of flooded streets and basements. In contrast, the airport only received 4 mm during the same period.
Funnel clouds were also observed as the thunderstorms first developed. Heavy rainfalls hit near the Yellowhead highway as well.

Police reported receiving reports of flooding at various intersections, mainly on the east side of the city.
