An arm injury suffered by Dan Clark in last week’s 30-15 loss to the B.C Lions is having major repercussions for the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
On Friday, head coach/general manager Chris Jones announced what will be a different-looking offensive line in the wake of the injury that has landed Clark on the 6 game injured list.
Brendan Labatte will move to center with all-star tackle Derek Dennis moving to left guard for Sunday’s rematch against the Lions. It means Bruce Campbell will suit up at left tackle as he plays his first game in two years after coming out of retirement. Rookie Dariusz Bladek will remain the 6th offensive lineman.
There will also be a new face on the defensive line. Nick James was signed on Friday, and is expected to start in place of the injured Zach Minter. James, who is 6 foot 5 and weighs 325 pounds, is expected to rotate in and out as he is not in game shape. He comes to the team after a failed stint with the NFL’s Detroit Lions. He went to school at Mississippi State where he recorded 15 sacks and 62 tackles in 29 career games.
