The dugout at Sherwood Forest has been drained for the summer.
It’s happening because four kids became sick after swimming in the water at the campground just west of the city having caught e. coli poisoning.
All four kids, between the ages of one and seven, did recover from their sickness.
Officials with Sherwood Forest say the dugout will be filled again next year, but they will be doing more like collecting water samples more often, installing a new filtration system and treating the sand.
The campground has become a popular place for people over the past few years with management saying there were between 300-500 people in the water every day especially in July when it was hotter than normal.
