The Regina Sports Hall of Fame will be inducting six new people in 2017.
The 2017 class includes four on the athletes side and two in the builders category.
The athletes are Jackie Moore (basketball), Kim Walker (golf), Kim Bergey-Kaip (wrestling, judo) and Brian Desjarlais (weightlifting) with Jerry Zbytunik (football), and Don McDougall (multi-sport) going into the builders section.
This year’s induction ceremony is slated for Thursday October 5 at Evraz Place.
There are now 90 inductees in the RSHF — 38 athletes, 35 builders, 13 teams and four patrons. There are also 150 honourary members with Regina connections who had previously been inducted into the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame.
The Regina Sports Hall of Fame is a non-profit organization that was formed to honour athletes, builders, teams and patrons who have contributed to sports in Regina. The RSHF display can be found inside the Co-Operators Centre
