The Saskatchewan Roughriders are coming off the seasons second bye-week, and a big home win before that as they head into Edmonton Friday night.
The green and white are looking for their first road win of the season and first win outside of Saskatchewan against a western team in 15 games, they’ll try to do it against an Eskimos team that is coming off its first loss of the season last week after opening 2017 with seven straight W’s.
Riders Quarterback, Kevin Glenn said road success starts with the right mind set.
“I mean it’s always hard to win on the road, but at the same time I think it’s a mind set that you have to have, you have to go into an opponents stadium and treat it as if it’s your own. That’s what we’re trying to do,” Glenn told reporters in Edmonton.
Head Coach Chris Jones is not relying on an extra week of rest to help them against a banged up Eskimos team.
“We’ve done study’s on bye-weeks they don’t necessarily help you, short weeks don’t necessarily kill you either. So again they didn’t win last week and I know that didn’t sit real well with them and they’ll be ready,” Jones said.
A win would also take the Riders back to .500 with a 4-4 record.
620 CKRM’s Game Day Coverage begins at 4:30 p.m. Friday afternoon with kickoff at 7:30 p.m. Rod Pedersen and Luc Mullinder will have all the play-byplay coverage.
