The hype is building for Sunday’s Labour Day Classic between the Roughriders and Blue Bombers at Mosaic Stadium.
Winnipeg has taken star receiver Weston Dressler off the 6-game Injured List and activated him for Sunday’s game.
The former Rider fan favourite is looking forward to getting back to Regina for the contest.
“It’s a great atmosphere and a really nice stadium,” Dressler said to 620 CKRM’s Rod Pedersen. “I’m sure it’s going to be like most Labour Day games in Regina. It will be rowdy and loud and a lot of fun.”
The Bombers are hoping to spoil the Riders’ party for a second time this season. Winnipeg wrecked the Riders’ home-opener on Canada Day and Dressler had two touchdowns that night but says he expects the Riders to be ready for him this time around.
“I’m sure they’ve corrected some of those mistakes they’ve made,” Dressler said. “Defensively, they’re playing at a really high level right now. For us, offensively, we try to keep the focus on taking care of the football as best as we can, get first downs and take our shots when the defense gives us the opportunities.”
The Riders host the Bombers Sunday at 2:00 on the Cooperators Rider Radio Network.
