The time is upon us to put on the snappy pants and flashy shirts with numbers of them! It is GRAND SLAM TIME.

If you happen to be in a mall, or downtown hotel and see someone that looks familiar, chances are good it could be a curler from not just Canada but around the world. This is very exciting, as teams bid for those spots at the 2018 Olympics.
Let the games begin.
Take note – there are two tiers. And if you’re true to the sport, check out Tier II for the names of the future.
Jamie is going with Gushue and Homan as the Champs of the Grand Slam event, I’m taking some dark horses with Laycock and Englot.
The sneakers are broken in and the gear set to the side in preparation for the Queen City Marathon.
My twitter feed lights up all the time now as QCM gets closer! I’m not running, but do know some people that are, so Good Luck!
As per a Seinfeld episode that involves Elaine hosting a friend who is running in the New York City Marathon (nothing good can come of this!) and Jerry steps in to offer his expert help!
I have a great story from a guy that ran in a number of marathons around the world. He was in Red Deer for the Woody’s Marathon and his story was about running in a tropical country. Kids lined the route and the runners were warned not to accept things from those along the route!
As he passed a water station, which he thought was okay, grabbing a cup of what he thought was water, he soon found out that the children along the route – in that particular spot – had peed in the cup… BLAH!!!!
Have fun, enjoy this sporting weekend. Tomorrow – World’s Longest Truck Convoy!
