The weather will be perfect for Saturday’s 11th Annual World’s Largest Truck Convoy. It starts for Regina at 11:30 at the Turvey Centre — with a free BBQ and the Truck Pull
The convoy actually begins in Saskatoon earlier in the morning with the Truck Convoy — it will make its way into the Queen City along Highway 11.
The event aims to raise awareness and funds for Special Olympics Saskatchewan athletes.
Victoria LaSalle is the marketing and development coordinator for Special Olympics Saskatchewan. She says everybody helps out by taking part in the event.
“By entering the convoy, doing the truck pull or just by coming out and supporting, you’re making a difference in the lives of our athletes,” LaSalle said. “For every one dollar invested in Special Olympics athletes, 7-dollars of social benefit is created.”
LaSalle says the Special Olympics community, including athletes, families, friends, colleagues will be on hand to welcome the the convoy
Following that, it’s the 6th annual Truck Pull event.
