Former Rider Justin Cox is in more hot water.
The 25 year old Cox is facing a charge of assault causing bodily harm, and assault with a weapon after two separate incidents that last month.
Regina police say they received word of a woman in hospital who had been the victim of an apparent physical assault. Police were told by someone who had assisted the victim that he came upon a what appeared to be a physical altercation of some kind while he was driving on 10th Avenue around 6:15 pm.. That person took the woman to hospital and called police.
Later that night, a man entered a business on the 1600 block of Albert claiming he needed to use the phone because he had been robbed.
The woman in the store asked if the man wanted her to call police and he declined. He left, but returned shortly after to get a hat he’d left behind. It was then the woman says the man pointed a firearm at her before leaving.
That man was taken into custody later that evening without incident.
Cox made an appearance on the assault causing bodily harm charge on August 31, and his appearance on the assault with a weapon charge the next day. He is to return to court Thursday.
