I’m going to start off my blog this morning by saying good morning to Perry Nyhus.
We were out at our final 620 CKRM Country Cookout at the Nostadt farm last night just outside of Kendal. We were enjoying some great food from Peg’s Kitchen and the music of the beautiful Tenille Arts when Perry came up to me and said he actually used a tip that he read about on my blog about using dish soap to get rid of those pesky maple bugs. Hey, don’t laugh, it really works! What you can laugh about is the next thing Perry said to me.
He told me he reads my blog every morning while he’s sitting on the john! I guess I didn’t need to know that particular bit of information, but hey, it doesn’t really matter where you read it, as long as you read it. I’m guessing Perry reads the blog on the 620 CKRM app on his cellphone. I’d hate to think he rolls his old 486 into the bathroom every morning when he needs to do his business. Thanks Perry. I think that would register as a compliment.
Maybe you don’t read this blog while you’re sitting on the john. Maybe you’re sitting in a dark closet right now waiting for your girlfriend’s husband to go to work. Maybe you’re making whoopee when you suddenly remember, halfway through, that you forgot to read my blog that morning. Maybe you’re sitting in the principal’s office waiting to find out how long your suspension will last. Maybe you’re just about to drop that scalpel onto someone’s chest to perform open heart surgery. My point is, it doesn’t matter where you are when you get the urge to read my daily blog. Go ahead, read it!
I appreciate everyone who reads this silly thing I’m contractually obligated to write every day. It’s nice to know that someone actually might be interested in what I have to say on any given day.
And Perry, I’ll never look at you quite the same way anymore.
