PotashCorp expects potash demand to remain strong through the rest of the year.
The company estimates global potash shipments will be between 62 and 65 million tonnes, potentially selling at an all-time high.
That’s up from the 61 to 64 million tonnes in its July outlook. Deliveries have been strong since the beginning of the year with prices strengthening on improved demand.
Nitrogen has seen some price volatility brought about because of an influx of new capacity in the past couple of year.
After this year, capacity additions are expected to slow while demand is expected to grow steadily.
Phosphate capacity is also increasing.
New low-cost supply is expected to weigh on the sector but, reduced exports from China and strong regional demand are said to be variables worth watching.
