Those who have put their name into the Saskatchewan Party leadership convention need to let it be known what their stance on the controversial decision to start charging the PST on insurance premiums is.
The Canadian Taxpayers Federation says the move to do that has had a disastrous effect on Saskatchewan families with agriculture and small business getting hit hard as a result of this move.
Federation spokesperson Todd McKay says it is an issue where there is basically no debate on whether or not the move was good or bad as a recent Insightrix poll showed over 75 percent of those asked think the move is wrong with over half saying they were strongly opposed to that move.
One of the leadership candidates says if elected the exemption will once again occur.
Tina Beaudry-Mellor made the declaration Tuesday morning saying she is hearing the backlash against this move, and how it is adding another layer of financial burden at a time when that is not needed. She says this is not the time to have such a tax out there and she will pull it off the table if she becomes Premier.
