Just in time for the cool autumn nights, the city of Regina is rescinding its open fire ban.
Fire Marshal Randy Ryba says officials have been monitoring the conditions and with cooler weather and recent rain, a decision was made to rescind the ban put into place earlier this month.
Ryba also points to recently-cut vegetation within the city’s naturalized open spaces. He says it no longer poses a fire threat.
Residents are reminded to adhere to the requirements for the safe use of fire pits and outdoor fireplaces.
