Many of the 11-thousand fans who streamed into Saskatoon’s SaskTel Centre Wednesday night to watch the Edmonton Oilers play the Carolina Hurricanes came to watch Connor McDavid.
The NHL’s reigning MVP made sure it was a night to remember for them.
McDavid scored two goals in a 92 second span in the second period as the Oilers beat the Hurricanes 4-0 in an NHL pre-season game.
McDavid received several ovations throughout the game including the end when he was named the game’s first star.
Both teams played most of their regulars seeing the NHL’s regular season starts next week.
