A new Crown Corporation in Saskatchewan will soon be responsible for managing the province’s 911 emergency dispatching services.
The Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency will see a new facility in the Prince Albert area that will serve as the provincial communications centre.
Regina and Saskatoon will will retain their current emergency dispatching centers and will report to the government through the new crown.
911 fees will rise by 32 cents effective January 1, 2018. The last increase was in 2010.
The new crown will report to the Minister of Government Relations.
