The largest food drive of its kind in Canada is back for another year in Regina.
The 31st annual Regina Food Bank’s Food Drive is aiming to collect 400 tons of food once again this year.
Regina Food Bank’s CEO, Steve Compton said they are continuing to see a rise in clients, making the drive all that more important.
“We’re averaging currently around 9,000 requests for service, and if you break that down it’s about 250 families a day. Some families or house holds have more people than others, but 9,000 and as I mentioned we’re seeing an increase,” Compton said.
As a reminder to donate brown paper bags were distributed to homes around Regina.
Donations can be placed in the bags and will be picked up on Saturday, October 14.
Another way to donate is through the Virtual Food Drive available on the food bank’s website.
