Mosaic Stadium will be transformed into a hockey arena in February.
On Friday morning, it was announced the Regina Pats will celebrate its homecoming weekend in honor of their 100th Anniversary season with a special weekend February 16-18 that will see two hockey games get played at the home of the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
On Saturday, February 17, the NHL/CHL Homecoming game will be played featuring 50 NHL stars of the past with players in the game having had significant ties to both the Pats and the other Saskatchewan teams in the Western Hockey League.
The following day, the rivalry between the Pats and Moose Jaw Warriors will have another chapter written to it when the two teams play in a regularly scheduled WHL game.
A gala fundraising dinner is also being planned for February 16 featuring those who will play in the alumni game with proceeds going to support the Regina Pats Community Foundation.
Season ticket holders for the Pats will have the first opportunity for pre-sale followed by ticket holders for the other WHL teams located in Saskatchewan and then Rider season ticket holders.
Tickets will go on sale to the public October 20th.
This will be the first hockey game to go at the new home of the Riders and will add to a list that includes concerts by Bryan Adams, Guns N’Roses, an international soccer friendly between Spanish club team FC Valencia and the New York Cosmos along with football games hosted by the Regina Thunder and University of Regina Rams.
