It looks like a court date for the STF to force the government to appoint members to the Educational Relations Board won’t be necessary.
The Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation had released a statement Wednesday, saying they had to suspend their contract talks with the government because the Educational Relations Board members hadn’t been approved yet.
The STF and the Saskatchewan School Boards Association made their recommendations last February.
The Minister of Education has since confirmed the appointments of the members selected by the STF and the SSBA.
Last week, an application was made to the courts to force the government to appointment members.
It was scheduled for October 24th at Saskatoon Court of Queen’s Bench.
STF Executive Director Randy Schmaltz says this now clears the way for a resumption of bargaining.
