A few minor changes to Rider game day security will be implemented for Friday night’s game against Ottawa.
In a news release Regina Police say the measures being taken are not in response to a specific threat to the city or Saskatchewan.
Rather the additional measures are a “balanced and responsible approach to public safety, in a national and international environment changed by recent acts of violence.”
Police say the public may notice an increased police presence along with resources with specific expertise and equipment should it be required.
While there will not be any additional road closures, people may also notice minor changes to the game day traffic plan.
The Riders host Ottawa at 8:00 p.m. Friday night.
