Oh, writer’s block.
So many ideas; just the way of crossing them off the list as viable topics that are interesting. Being wise, clear headed and concise on the execution of writing the piece.
Writing is an art form which can be expressed in many styles. How you develop your style is something else.
We write with pure emotion of events taking place around us. (Last week topics included sexual harassment and fostering children. For different reasons, neither of those two stories were published.)
Today, after spending the weekend on the road to Estevan, it’s hard to know what topic to write about.
There was attending a convention and representing the Royal Canadian Legion, Regina Branch 001. This brings forth some of the work that the Legion is doing outside of what people usually think (bar and meat draws).
Driving up and down Highway 39; while a dangerous stretch of road, the only thing that might be a hazard in October would be the thousands of geese calling a wheat field home. The migration south is well under way! The skies look amazing at this time of year.
This is another “stand-out” for my weekend journey, going to see Blade Runner at Estevan’s Orpheum Theatre.
Ten dollars for the ticket, less than ten bucks for large popcorn and medium drink AND the reclining style chairs! Win, win, win! Plus great people running the theatre. The movie is pretty great, too!!
Have you come into Mosaic Stadium and enjoyed the warmth of the Studio 620 Harvard Lounge before or after football?
Just a word to the wise; if you want to come post game, let’s say to have a drink while you wait for the bus, or meet your friends; be prepared to be swarmed by security. Just saying – they don’t want you there. You might want to hang and watch or listen to Michael Ball and the post game crew, but that part of the program only gets good once you’ve left or have been herded out the door!
Apparently, the ‘law’ indicates you must vacate.
