Canada’s top nursing educators will be gathering in Saskatoon for an annual conference.
120 educators are expected to attend the 17th annual Canadian Association of Practical Nurse Educators 17th Annual Conference at the Bessborough Wednesday through Friday.
Karen Ullyott is the head of the Practical Nursing program in Prince Albert and chair of the Canadian Association.
She says it’s a great opportunity to show the best of SaskPolytech and Saskatchewan.
“A number of our faculty are participating and presenting their expertise,” Ullyot said. “We’re going to be allowing participants to visit different venues in Saskatoon.”
The conference goes to a different province each year, and the last time it was in Saskatchewan was in 2008.
Some of the topics this year include preparing students to navigating the nursing environment, Indigenization of practical nurse education, and strategies to meet diverse learner needs.
