Tuesday night’s record breaking wind gusts left thousands without power in Regina and across Saskatchewan.
SaskPower was ready though, with crews on call for when the lights went out.
Jordan Jackle, is a Spokesperson for the crown, and said outages have been reported everywhere in the province.
“Damage is really widespread there was hundreds of localized outages across southern and central Saskatchewan. That’s making it difficult to determine exact customer counts or determine exactly when power was restored for each person,” Jackle said.
Wind gusts of 131 kilometers an hour were reported in Moose Jaw, while gusts of 119 and 113 hit Regina and Saskatoon.
Regina’s water treatment facility lost power for a number of hours but was restored by morning rush hour on Wednesday.
