A woman who was a passenger in a car involved in a police chase in North Battleford, which resulted in the shooting death of the driver, has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime.
28-year old Amanda Wahobin is also charged with robbery and breach of a conditional sentence order. RCMP say these charges are not related to Saturday’s events.
Wahobin was the passenger in the car driven by 22-year old Brydon Whitstone.
The vehicle rammed a police vehicle on Saturday evening during a chase. Whitstone was then shot by an officer.
RCMP said in a news conference, the shooting was in response to the driver’s actions following the pursuit.
RCMP performed life-saving measures at the scene, but Whitstone from Onion Lake was pronounced dead en route to hospital.
Wahobin made her first appearance Monday in North Battleford provincial court.
She is in custody until her next appearance on Tuesday.
