Regina Police have charged three people involved in a lengthy standoff on Monday in they city’s North Central area.
After initially being called to a residence on the 1100 block of Elphinstone Street around 6:00 a.m. Monday morning, the situation quickly escalated when a shot was fired through a window in the home towards police around 10:30 a.m.
The standoff concluded peacefully and without any injuries around 9:00 p.m. Monday night when the suspects emerged from the home.
As a result 36-year-old Lyndon Sprague, 42-year-old Lyall Anaqoud and 29-year-old Jocelynne McKay are facing a total of ten charges.
During the day SWAT members along with crisis negotiators spoke with the suspects inside the home with a megaphone and a phone line, while non-lethal tactics were also used to try and force the suspects outside of the house.
All three suspects made their first court appearances on Tuesday.
