Darian Durant is back in Regina as he made his first appearance inside Mosaic Stadium as a member of the Montreal Alouettes.
As he returns to Riderville, he isn’t sure what type of reaction he will get from Rider Nation when the two teams meet Friday night at 7:30.
“I hope it’s a nice warm reception, for sure,” Durant said. “I hope Rider Nation appreciates my time here, and appreciates what I’ve done for this franchise. I really hope everyone stands and gives me a warm ovation, because I think I deserve it. I wish the other guys who are on different teams could be here to receive it with me, because I couldn’t do it without those guys. They know who they are. It should be nice. I’m expecting a nice one, for sure.”
As for being on the other sideline for the first time in Regina, Durant admits it will be strange not knowing what to expect.
“I’m just going to enjoy the little things that come with being a visitor and experience that side of things.” Durant stated. As a player here, you always wonder what is it like on that other sideline, Do the fans kind of heckle the other team? Are they nice to players? How do they treat veterans who have played in Saskatchewan before?’ I’ve always wondered about those type of things, so this is my time to kind of sit back and embrace that.”
Game time is 7:30 with 620 CKRM’s pre-game show starting at 4:30
