The University of Regina Rams had a chance to host a Canada West playoff game next weekend, but 15 minutes of football allowed that opportunity to go through their hands.
The Rams went into their game against UBC in Vancouver with a 5-0 lead, but the T-Birds scored 35 second-quarter points en route to a 44-15 win meaning the two teams will play next weekend in Vancouver witht he winner going to the Hardy Cup final.
While Regina quarterback Noah Picton was ineffective on this day, his counterpart–Michael O’Connor was not as he threw three touchdown passes—two of them to Alex Morrison in that 2nd quarter to send UBC on their way.
Running back Atlee Simon had his 4th straight 100 yard day rushing for 117 yards making him the school’s all-time leading rusher. His total of 2945 yards is 11 yards better than Neal Hughes.
